Truck Driver (Job Description)
The Ogle County Highway Department is looking for a full-time Truck Driver. 
Job details:
  • Job Title: Truck Driver
  • Position Location: Highway Department in Oregon, Illinois
  • Shift: 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M., Monday thru Friday
  • Position Status: Hourly, non-exempt
  • Wages Starting at: $23.64 per hour
  • Length of Employment: Permanent at-will
  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum Experience/Required Certification: Legally licensed driver with Class B CDL
Position Summary:
Operation of large trucks used to haul various materials used in the construction and maintenance of the County highway system.  Snow and ice removal from the County highway system.  Tractor operation for roadside mowing, sweeping, shoulder maintenance, etc.  Hand labor required to maintain the roadway.  Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavator, end loader, motor-grader, skid loader and backhoe a plus.

Engineering Technician (Job Description)
The Ogle County Highway Department is looking for a full-time Engineering Technician. 
Job details:

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!As a County Highway Engineering Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting our team of engineers and professionals in achieving this goal.
Responsibilities:Collaborate with engineering staff to assist in the planning, design, and analysis of county highway projects.Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, plans, and specifications for construction and maintenance projects.Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software and other technical tools to create accurate and detailed drawings.Provide support during construction projects, including monitoring progress, verifying compliance with plans, and addressing any issues that may arise.Collaborate with other departments, agencies, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
Desired Qualifications:Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field. Bachelor's degree is a plus.Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and technical tools.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Familiarity with transportation engineering principles and practices.Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and navigate construction sites.Valid driver's license.
