Funding/Payment

Focus House is funded by county, state and federal sources. Parents of Ogle County children are assessed a weekly fee by the court, based upon their ability to pay. Children referred from other counties are assessed a fee which is billed to the probation department. These fees cover all expenses except those for personal hygiene items, haircuts, and clothes. Medical, dental, psychiatric and pharmaceutical fees will also be the responsibility of the parent or referring probation department if the charge is not covered under Medicaid or private insurance. (Following placement, the referring probation department is required to obtain a Medicaid card for the minor.)

Finally, Focus House also receives generous donations from service clubs, private contributors, and United Way. These funds are used for services to the children such as recreational outings and are never used for daily operating or administrative costs.
