Ogle County Health Department keeps the community informed of important health issues and available services, provides educational programs, information, referral and technical assistance, and develops promotional campaigns. We provide health screening, consultation and education on preventable disease conditions and risk factors.

Below are some of the services we provide:

Communicable Diseases - Ogle County Health Department provides prevention and control of communicable disease through immunizations, epidemiological investigations and carrier isolation. Immunizations are provided to infants, children, and adults of Ogle County. Flu shot clinics are provided in the fall of each year. Testing, treatment, and education is provided for sexually transmitted diseases for men and women. Information materials distributed and presentations provided as requested.

Our Health Education Program keeps the community informed of important health issues and available services, provides educational programs, information, referral and technical assistance, and develops promotional campaigns. We provide health screening, consultation and education on preventable disease conditions and risk factors.

Lab Draw Program - Lab services are available at the Ogle County Health Department. We have hundreds of tests available.

Immunizations - The Ogle County Health Department provides vaccines required for attending daycare, public and private schools.

Lead Program - The goal of the Ogle County Health Department is to provide assistance for case management services, education and outreach through training and community intervention. The primary objective is to eliminate the incidence of childhood lead poisoning.

Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) - Ogle County Health Department provides testing, treatment, education is provided for sexually transmitted diseases for men and women. Information materials distributed and presentations provided as requested.

Rabies - Rabies is a deadly virus spread to people from the saliva or neural tissue (i.e., brain, spinal cord) of infected animals. Only mammals can get rabies. Once a person begins showing signs and symptoms of rabies, the disease is nearly always fatal. For that reason, immune globulin and rabies vaccine is recommended under certain circumstances to stop the rabies virus from infecting the body.
